Sidney Mauricio
Hello!
My name is Sidney Mauricio, and I am a newly graduated student from the Bachelor's of Architecture program at Spitzer! I am a Filipino-American born and raised in Queens, NY. I am completing my internship at Jenkins Architecture and will be starting a full-time position at Mega Contracting in July. During my time at CCNY, I have been very active in the community through the Philippine American Organization and the American Institute of Architecture Students, even serving on the boards all throughout my five years. In the future, I plan to become a design-build architect or work further in the field of construction management. I absolutely enjoy being in the architecture field and understanding the way space and design impact our lives from the small scale in the buildings and rooms we inhabit to the grander scale of the urban fabric of New York City. In my free time, I like taking film photos around the city and watching the Mets play at Citi Field.
I can’t wait to fully immerse myself in working in the industry and see what post-grad life has in store!

Amjad Uddin
My name is Amjad Uddin, and I’m in my final year of the five-year Bachelor of Architecture program at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture at CCNY. I immigrated from Bangladesh at a young age and grew up in New York City. That experience helped me see how architecture can deeply influence the way people live, connect, and find a sense of belonging.
Moving between different cultures and environments made me aware of how design can either support or limit people’s lives. I believe architecture is brought to life by the people who experience it, and that thoughtful design should create spaces where individuals and communities feel safe, uplifted, and empowered to thrive.
My passion lies in creating inclusive, sustainable, and communal spaces that foster connection and shared experience. During a study abroad program in Barcelona, I explored the city’s 2030 Urban Vision, which emphasizes green infrastructure and public space as tools for improving urban life. That experience inspired me to reflect on how New York can strengthen our efforts to build healthier and more equitable environments.
