Meet Crystal Xing- who graduated from the Master of Landscape Architecture program with a Special Prize for Service to the Program in 2017. She was one of the recipients of the American Society of Landscape Architecture NY Chapter Scholarship Award in 2016. During school, she served as a teaching assistant for Prof. Catherine Seavitt Nordenson and Prof. Denise Hoffman Brandt, and as a research assistant for Prof. June Williamson.

Crystal is currently working as a landscape designer at Quennell Rothschild & Partners. Recently she is working on Destination Greenways, a bike system revitalization project consists of a 19 mile bike route in Queens and a 10 mile one along southwest Brooklyn shoreline. She has been actively learning and involved in community engagement in times of Covid and applying GIS analysis into decision making process. Her interest in gray and green infrastructures germinated in one of her internships with the Dredge Research Collaborative, a nonprofit which investigates sediment handling practices and aims at improving sediment management through planning design.

Crystal also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Art Design from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in China. She is one of the Board of Directors for the Architecture Alumni Group, working on bridging the connections with all program alums within the Spitzer School.
